When I saw this tag on The Beauty Collection‘s Blog, I knew I had to do it. Blush and I have a very special relationship. That is to say, I’m freaking obsessed with it. I have more blush than one person will need in a lifetime and I’m showing no signs of stopping. So on that note, let’s dive in:
What color blush suits you most?
I think dusty rose shades are the most flattering for me. So many of mine are that muted rosy pink/red color and they are the ones that I reach for the most no matter the season.
Favorites: NYX-Dusty Rose & Mac Desert Rose
Pressed/Cream/ Loose Blush?
Pressed. All the way. I love the ease of application and the variety of finishes. I would say 99% of my blushes are pressed powder.
Favorite Shimmery Blush?
I think this would have to go to Milani’s Luminoso. The color is so pretty and the shimmer isn’t too in your face. This is a popular blush and for good reason.
Honorable Mention: Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Luminous Flush
Favorite Matte Blush?
This was really hard for me. Most of my blushes are matte. Since I have oily skin, I’m wary of shimmer blushes and usually grab for mattes. I think my favorite formula is the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blushes. They also offer shimmery shades, but every one that I have is a matte. They are so easy to apply and have a wide range of shades. My favorite is Natural Beauty which is an intimidating looking red but it gives the most beautiful wind-slapped flush.
Favorite Cream Blush?
I have never really liked cream blushes. Again, I feel like with my oily complexion, they don’t tend to last as long. But I recently picked up a couple of the Colour Pop Blushes and they have a soft, cream to powder finish. I have Birthday Suit (a nude pink) and Early Bird (a bright coral pink). When applied with a stippling brush they can go on quite sheer and be built up or with the fingers for something a bit more bold. I really like these and can’t wait to get more!
Favorite Drugstore Blush?
I’m going to give this to a brand rather than a specific shade. Milani takes the cake for this one. The baked blushes are just gorgeous and I’ve fallen head over heels for the Rose Blushes.
Honorable Mention: Wet N’ Wild makes amazing blushes. My favorite is Heather Silk, a matte raspberry red.
Favorite High End Blush?
I have to give this one to Tarte’s Amazonian Clay Blushes. I have 5 shades and they are all just stunning. Tipsy is a bright coral and looks really beautiful in the summer and Exposed is a lovely nude shade that works so well with a bright lip. They just have so much variety and the formula hasn’t let me down.
Honorable Mentions: Clinique Cheek Pops and The Balm
This is tricky. I really try and do my research before I jump in a buy something. Especially if it’s high end. I think in general, they would have to be liquid blushes and cream blush sticks. I just don’t find them to work for my skin type and they can be very tricky to apply.
Best Blush Packaging
I love the Balm’s packaging. The whole line has a very vintage 50’s vibe that is just so fun. I love the Frat Boy Blush. It’s just so cute.
Honorable Mention: Nars. It’s just so sleek looking. I just wish you could see the color inside. That would be my only gripe.
What’s on your Blush Wish List?
I’ve been wanting to get my hands on the Kat Von D blushes for a while now. I’ve heard great things about them and I love her packaging as well. The Dior Rosy Glow Blush has also been on my list for a while. I’d also love to grab some of the Makeup Geek Blushes and Make a DIY Palette.
Number 1 Holy Grail Blush?
Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Amused. It’s a bright matte pink blush that looks so pretty in a sheer layer. I think it’s just such a pretty color and it’s one that I reach for so frequently, I’m surprised I haven’t hit pan on it yet. But that’s another great thing about that line is that they seem to last forever!
I tag all of you to do this tag. It was so fun to go through my stash and it actually helped me get rid of some things that I realized I wasn’t using. And that made my room mate pretty happy 🙂
