Jouer Essential Matte and Shimmer Palette Review & Swatches

Jouer has been killing it in the makeup game lately. They launched a line of liquid lipsticks, KILLER highlighters and eyeshadows, and now a full palette. Jouer has only sold singles in the past that linked together with the rest of their products to create a custom palette. But with curated palettes being so popular, it was only a matter of time until they released their own. And it’s a good one.

Now, I’m not saying that the Essential Matte and Shimmer palette is revolutionary. There are literally thousands out on the market. But I do think that it’s great for a brand to branch out and cater to the consumers while still holding on to their aesthetic and formula. I always think it’s easier to use a palette over several singles to create a look and I think Jouer did the damn thing with this one. This palette is gorgeous. It’s great for a neutral, everyday appropriate eye or a smokey evening eye. It doesn’t run too warm or too cool. It sits perfectly in neutral territory. The formula is on par with Jouer’s single eyeshadows and they are soft, blendable and pigmented. The packaging is sturdy and chic and comes with a large mirror which is great for traveling. I don’t really have too many negatives about this one. If you’re just starting out, this is a great standard to have. Will you need this if you’re a hoarder like me? Not really. I have so many neutral eyeshadow palettes. However, I will say that it helped me to streamline my collection and pass along my single Jouer shadows to friends.

What do you guys think of this palette? Is it on your wish list?

What are your faves from Jouer?
